Album · 2008 · 6 Songs. Beat Dimensions, Vol. 1. Cinnaman & Jay Scarlett. Worth Maiking a Noise About ! 1000names. Beat Dimensions Vol 2. Cinnaman & Jay Scarlett present. Easy Like - EP. Powell.
The second volume of The Disco Years, subtitled "On the Beat," leans toward mainstream hits but also fits in a handful of more underground classics; McFadden & Whitehead's "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now," Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell," and Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" are featured alongside Young & Company's "I Like What You're Doing to Me," Indeep's. Last Night a DJ Saved My Life," and GQ's "Disco Nights (Rock Freak).
Cobbling together styles from Top 40 and the dance underground alike, Vol. 2 raises the question: Can a microgenre that’s all self-consciously hyper- contemporary veneer sustain itself long-term? . The song’s otherwise unimaginative pop skeleton (lilting beat, insipid lyrics) is rendered magnetic through chilly vocal manipulation and melodic elements, which are at once dreamlike and austere. In other words, it sounds like an . Cook production on a fistful of downers. This is not to mention the hype around the band itself: an anonymous female vocalist, a debut via a lipgloss ht from the PC playbook. But listening to the PC Music, Vol. 2 compilation, I felt less subsumed and more worn out. Is it feasible for a microgenre that’s all candy-coating, all self-consciously hyper- contemporary veneer, to expect to sustain itself long-term?
You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 2 is a live album by Frank Zappa. Despite the subtitle 'The Helsinki Concert', the album is not one complete concert, but was, in fact, assembled from two (and possibly three) different concerts performed in Helsinki in 1974. The working title for this album was The Helsinki Tapes, a title more accurately reflecting the fact that the album was composed of performances from more than one show.

Album released today 4/21/17. Just love this great music of my youth. Whomever picks these has great taste. Strange though, I think I already had all these songs, just in different places and albums. Not sure why lyrics aren't included but hey, at least you can understand by listening! Can't wait to see the movie.
