Yoshitaka Azuma Instinctively Aggressive Creatures (from Panzer Dragoon).
Composer: Yoshitaka Azuma. Panzer Dragoon holds a very special place in my heart. It’s a huge symbol of my childhood I believe. Not only was I a very proud and loving owner of a Sega Saturn, but very appreciative of the games that came out for it as well. I have very fond memories playing games like NiGHTS into Dreams, Dragon Force, Virtua Fighter 1&2, etc. Maybe I was too young at the time to realize that the system was doomed, but I loved it very much. I think that Panzer Dragoon was one of the first games I owned on the console, along with Virtua Fighter, or something like that, but when I popped the game in, I was immediately blown away by the cinematics and, for it’s time, beautiful scenery. For some reason, flying over that ocean in the first stage, watching the reflections underneath, was just awesome as a ki. ven now I think.

Combined with a few tracks performed by a full orchestra this makes for some exceptional listening. The score is adventurous and grand a lot.
Composed by the late Yoshitaka Azuma, whose previous solo albums for Nippon Columbia had drawn on everything from ambient, prog, krautrock and electronic minimalism, the music of Panzer Dragoon moves between swelling orchestral pieces, blasts of rhythmic synthesis and ambient passages that wouldn’t seem out of place in the Tangerine Dream discography. When viewed as a standalone concept album, Panzer Dragoon succeeds in somehow conveying, by the sum of its seemingly dissonant parts, that most basic of human fantasies; the sensation of being in flight. Panzer Dragoon is presented as a double 180g LP, cut at 45rpm and housed in a single pocket, 425gsm mirror board sleeve with accompanying lithographic insert and silver laminated OBI strip.
