The Brothers (10) ‎– Mauritius Farewell. A. Mauritius Farewell.

A farewell tour is a concert or show tour intended to signal the retirement of a singer, a disbanding of a band, or the end of a show's run. Many of the tours end up not being the last tour, with frequent regroupings, or revivals of shows. Notable farewell tours include: Cream's Farewell Concert (reunion tour in 2005). The Beatles' London rooftop performance documented in their 1970 film, Let It Be. The Last Stand, 1983/84 concert tour by Cold Chisel. The Last Waltz concert by the Band, 1976.

Farewell Album is the final album released by The New Seekers in their early 1970s hit-making line up, released in 1974. It is also the group's last release on Polydor Records. In early 1974, despite being at the peak of their success, both female members Eve Graham and Lyn Paul had expressed their wish to leave the group. This was against the terms of their contract (which allowed for only one member to leave at a time), so came the announcement that the group were to split entirely.

With the benefit of hindsight, the name of this album should more accurately be "Farewell Tour: The Michael McDonald/Warner Brothers Years. That's because the Doobie Brothers made a relatively successful comeback in 1989 (without McDonald) on a different label and have continued to tour sporadically through the 90s and '00s. Oddly, there are no songs from the outfit's final Warner studio album, One Step Closer, included here.

Farewell Tour is the first live album by American rock band The Doobie Brothers, released in 1983. It has also appeared on a number of live albums, including Farewell Tour in 1983, The Best of the Doobie Brothers Live in 1999 and Live at the Greek Theatre 1982 in 2011. Farewell Tour is the first live album by American rock band The Doobie Brothers, released in 1983. It documents the group's 1982 Farewell Tour. By the early 1980s, the Doobie Brothers had evolved from the guitar-boogie sound under original band frontman Tom Johnston to a soulful keyboard-driven AOR sound under Michael McDonald. Despite the many personnel changes in the group, Patrick Simmons remained from the original incarnation of the group. In 1982, Simmons decided to retire from the group after years of constant touring and recording.
