East of the Sun, West of the Moon is the fourth studio album by Norwegian new wave band A-ha. It was released on 27 October 1990 by Warner Bros. Named after a Norwegian fairy tale, the album was something of a departure from the band's earlier radio-friendly sound to a darker, moodier tone. It peaked at number one in the band's native Norway and reached top 20 in various European countries and Japan. It was co-produced by Ian Stanley, formerly of the band Tears for Fears.
The album also features the first non-Morten lead vocals, by Magne on "The Way We Talk. Paul: "We put together a band with Norwegian musicians, and did full takes on all the songs. It was something completely different, it was a much more human expression. You can listen to it several times and find nuances, 'cause it ain't a machine spitting it ou. In 1991, a-ha was yet again on tour. This time they made history with the largest paying audience at a concert: 198,000 attended a-ha's concert at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Continuing an epic year for a-ha, the Norwegian trio marks the 25th anniversary of their fourth studio album East of the Sun, West of the Moon, with a series of remastered and expanded album reissues. Each reissue will feature the remastered original album, plus an additional disc of bonus content including demos, alternate versions, and classic live performances. The sets are expanded further with new liner notes by renowned music journalist Kieron Tyler

Cold River 1990 - a-ha. Crying In The Rain ( East Of The Sun, West Of The Moon) - A-Ha.
The album reached in the European top-100 albums sales chart. Includes 'Crying In The Rain', 'Early Morning', 'Waiting For Her', 'I Call Your Name' and more. Plus, I always thought that the artwork and design of the album should all be black and white - but that is me being too fussy.
