Sprinter is the second studio album by Torres (née Mackenzie Scott), released May 5, 2015 on Partisan Records. The album was recorded in England and was influenced by Scott's upbringing in Georgia, United States. The music on Sprinter was inspired by 1990s alternative rock. Artists that have been cited as influence on the album include Nirvana, Funkadelic and PJ Harvey. Scott's upbringing in Macon, Georgia, especially her experiences in the Baptist Church influenced the album's lyrics. The lyrics on Sprinter were also influenced by the writings of John Edward

Genre: Singer-Songwriter. But Sprinter isn't inconsequential or ordinary. Years from now, I want newcomers and explorers to discover this album and decide it's worth their time. 95. Extraordinarily well executed piece of art-rock poetry.

Genre: Pop. Those who discovered Mackenzie Scott’s self-titled debut in 2013 found a singer-songwriter with oodles of potential, with her sparse torch-songs, sculpted wordcraft and heartbreaking delivery. It could be time for the Torres fanclub to find a bigger room because this second album is going to bring in a lot more folks. Again, Scott is penning songs based on experiences and musings, but song after song speaks of a huge creative development between albums.

After her simmering and intimate self-titled debut earned Torres comparisons to PJ Harvey, Mackenzie Scott joined forces with a couple of Harvey 's crew for her ambitious sophomore album, Sprinter. Co-produced by Scott and longtime PJ Harvey collaborator Rob Ellis and recorded in Dorset, England, the record also has contributions from the powerful English singer/songwriter's occasional bassist Ian Olliver and guitarist/producer Adrian Utley of Portishead.

LP (12" album, 33 rpm). TORRES Format: Vinyl. Following her self-titled debut in 2013, TORRES pushes herself to even noisier extremes on Sprinter, a punishing self-examination of epic spiritual and musical proportions.
