The Frank Sinatra Christmas Collection is a 2004 Christmas album from Frank Sinatra. The album was released by Warner Music Group on October 26, 2004.
Long ago, about 2000 years, when King Herod ruled Judea (now part of Israel), God sent the angel Gabriel to a young woman who lived in the northern town of Nazareth. The girl's name was Mary and she was engaged to marry Joseph. At this time, the land where Mary and Joseph lived was part of the Roman Empire. The Roman Emperor Augustus wanted to have a list of all the people in the empire, to make sure they paid their taxes. Mary and Joseph traveled a long way (about 70 miles) from Nazareth to Bethlehem, because that is where Joseph's family came from.
And then the Presents, after the Christmas box. And the cold postman, with a rose on his button-nose, tingled down the tea-tray-slithered run of the chilly glinting hill. He went in his ice-bound boots like a man on fishmonger's slabs. And then a small, dry voice, like the voice of someone who has not spoken for a long time, joined our singing: a small, dry, eggshell voice from the other side of the door: a small dry voice through the keyhole. And when we stopped running we were outside our house; the front room was lovely; balloons floated under the ping gas; everything was good again and shone over the town. This is NOT TOO LONG. But you call this a Short Story about Christmas, A Child's Christmas In Wales - SHORT story by Dylan Thomas. A very interesting read, and it ads a very lot to our general knowledge about the customs of countries.
The Gift of the Magi is a beautiful Christmas story written by O. Henry–a well known American short story writer. I’ve been hearing this story since I was a little girl. It’s about a young married couple who love each other very much but can barely make ends meet. The third time she lights a match, her beloved, deceased grandmother appears and the little girl runs into her arms. The next morning, the little girl’s body is found. She had frozen to death. A Child’s Christmas in Wales was turned into a TV movie which you can watch below (I highly recommend you watch this): Conclusion. I hope these Christmas stories and poems by famous authors made you feel joy, love for friends and family, compassion, and nostalgia.
Some of our most sentimental Christmas memorie. The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey is a story about loss, love, and healing. It’s a gentle reminder to love all, even those who appear unwelcoming, because you may not know their struggle. 4 The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry. The magi, as you know, were wise men - wonderfully wise men - who brought gifts to the newborn Christ-child. They were the first to give Christmas gifts. Being wise, their gifts were doubtless wise ones. And here I have told you the story of two children who were not wise.
The lyrics to "The 12 Days of Christmas" have changed over the years. The version most people are familiar with today begins with this verse: On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me. A partridge in a pear tree. The song then adds a gift for each day, building on the verse before it, until you're reciting all 12 gifts together: Day 2: two turtle doves. Day 3: three French hens. A popular theory that's made the internet rounds is that the lyrics to "The 12 Days of Christmas" are coded references to Christianity; it posits that the song was written to help Christians learn and pass on the tenets of their faith while avoiding persecution.
Top on my list is Dylan Thomas's A Child's Christmas in Wales, a wonderfully poetic evocation of the Christmases of Thomas's youth. I read it to every college English class I ever taught, just before the holiday break. Former students tell me that they liked it so much they continue to read it to their families.
It's Christmas Eve in Wales. A young boy named Thomas is excited about the holiday, but he's also disappointed because it's raining instead of snowing. His grandfather gives him an old snow globe as an early Christmas present and starts telling colorful, amusing stories about his childhood Christmases that are shown in flashback. Mary Tobin has wonderful memories of family gatherings at the Christmas Lodge. When she arrives for a weekend vacation, she quickly realizes that the lodge that she loves has fallen into.
