Spear of Destiny is a British rock band, founded in 1983 by singer and songwriter Kirk Brandon (born 3 August 1956 in London) and bassist Stan Stammers (born 19 May 1961). It has had an ever-changing line-up through the years. Formed in 1983, the band's original line-up consisted of Kirk Brandon, Stan Stammers, Chris Bell and Lascelles James.

Sample of all the Spear of destiny singles released between 1983 and 1988.

Two discs stuffed with primal Spear of Destiny are nothing to be sniffed at, of course, and a few of the renderings are close to their "official" versions in terms of execution and delivery. But still, there's a dishonesty at work here that cannot be condoned, and we sadly pass this two-CD collection by.

Outland (Spear of Destiny album). Outland is the fourth studio album by Spear of Destiny, released by 10 Records in 1987 (see 1987 in music). It included the hit single "Never Take Me Alive" which reached n. 4 in the UK singles charts in 1987 - Spear of Destiny's only Top 20 hit in the UK. Three other singles were released from the album, namely "Strangers In Our Town", "Was That You?" and "The Traveller", all making the UK Top 50.

One Eyed Jacks the band’s second album which reached N. 2 in 1984 is featured on Disc 2. Spear Of Destiny – THE ALBUMS 1983-85. Spear of Destiny - Live, Town & Country Club, London - 16th December 1985. This was to be the final gig of Spear of Destiny Mark II, considered by many as their best line-up and best period. Spear of Destiny - Live CD, Electric Ballroom, London - 15th September 1983. Playground of The Rich.

Spear Of Destiny – Religion. Out now. The reissue of 1997 album by Kirk Brandon and Co. LTW’s Ian Canty hears a re-energised version of Spear Of Destiny 14 years into their career. By the time that this album was released, Spear Of Destiny had undergone such radical line up changes that most people would tend to view them as pretty much a Kirk Brandon solo project. 14 years had passed since they formed, following the split of Theatre Of Hate when that combo seemed on the verge on major success. I suppose this CD would appeal mainly to any more casual Spear fan who has a few gaps in their collection they wish to fill. Bit of a missed opportunity really, as the LP itself is highly listenable, well played and with a few extra adornments could have presented itself as a highly attractive package.

Religion is the seventh studio album by Spear of Destiny, released by Eastworld Recordings in 1997 (see 1997 in music). All songs written by Kirk Brandon.
