He played for the Cleveland Blues for 18 games from September 10 to September 28, 1901. His brother, Jerry Donovan, also played in the majors. Celtic folkie Tom Donovan was born and raised in Dublin, honing his craft on the local pub circuit before rising to fame in 1994 fronting the short-lived Dublin Town Buskers. In the wake of their debut album Fire and Passion the group disbanded, and Donovan relocated to Denmark to mount a solo career, issuing the acclaimed CD/book set 101 Songs & Ballads from Ireland. 40 Irish Pub Songs followed in 1999.
