Bob Dylan is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on March 19, 1962 by Columbia Records. Produced by Columbia's legendary talent scout John H. Hammond, who signed Dylan to the label, the album features folk standards, plus two original compositions, "Talkin' New York" and "Song to Woody".

Bob Dylan's 1974 album, Blood on the Tracks, reminded the world that Dylan was a songwriter without peer. On his next album, he decided to experiment by taking on a co-writer, theater director Jacques Levy. While the songs on Blood on the Tracks were highly personal, these new songs were largely about characters, both real and imagined.

This made Bob Dylan an unlikely inspiration for Jimi Hendrix, who before hearing this considered himself only a guitarist and not a singer. After hearing this, he saw that it didn't take a conventional voice to sing rock and roll. Hendrix often played "Like A Rolling Stone," including a performance at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. Hendrix and Dylan met only once, but Jimi had a knack for bringing out the emotions in Dylan's songs: he also did a very successful cover of "All Along The Watchtower

Dutch bootleg from 1970, almost contemporary to the 1st rock bootleg ever "Great White Wonder" and containing many of the same tracks. Most of this music has since been officially released. Disc One is solo acoustic and contains material from The Minneapolis Tapes, Live At The Gaslight, Live At Carnegie Hall and outtakes from The Freewheelin' Sessions (1961-1963). On Disc Two Dylan is backed by The Band. C1-D3 come from the sessions that produced The Basement Tapes (circa 1967), while D4-D6 was recorded live at The Isle Of Wight festival, August 1969.
