When Curtis Jones stood the Cajual Records, he put a single goal, to preserve the original sound of Chicago House combining it with the new technology of sound

Moving Forward’ is 15 tracks long and is undoubtedly a pure house album. Most tracks feature soulful vocals and Fodera has enlisted a slew of great vocalists for the album. Quite a few tracks step into funk/disco territory for unashamedly feel good fun. Our fave tracks are the deep house numbers like ‘You’re The One ft. Cajmere’, ‘How Quick ft. Amber Jolene’ and ‘Make Me Feel w/Deep City Soul’. This album definitely isn’t short of catchy, pumping dance floor fillers and has a really upbeat, fun summery vibe. New kid on the scene SEBMANN got this superb techno track played on . raits on Radio 1 recently. We’re looking forward to more from the Glaswegian producer. Hefty bass in this deep house track from Ozi, release your inner rude boy and get down and dirrrrty to this on. 6 tracks we'Re diggin' 2DAY.

I've been a big fan of Sonny Fodera for some time now and so I was very interested to hear that he had an album coming out. Many of his EP's have been very good, and I love his brand of funky house, so I had high hopes for the album.Upon listening to it I have to admit I was slightly disappointed. While all of the tracks are good (some very good) the album actually feels more like a collection of singles than anything else. Part of the problem is that every track is like what you would find on one of his EP's in that they have DJ friendly intro's & outro's and are quite pumping. This is fine on a single which will be played live in a club but for an album, which is meant to be for home listening, it's not so good. It makes the album sound somewhat repetitive having every track start and end the exact same way. The album ends up being too long as well and I struggled to find time to listen to it all in one go.The mix is actually a more interesting listen. Because its shorter its less of a struggle to listen to it all and it ends up less repetitive with the intro's & outro's not an issue. Unfortunately it still doesn't feel like an album, more of a mix of singles, but it's definitely an easier listen then the individual tracks.Fans of Sonny Fodera's other releases, or funky house in general, should definitely check this release out but its better to think of it as a collection of singles rather than a cohesive album.
