the album should have been called Taking a chance on Chancey. Referring to Vincent Chancey but the misprint stuck. ( info Szwed p338) also apparently only about 120 were ever pressed maybe as many as 140 how many still exist is not known ( any ideas?) ( I can't remember where I heard about the number but it was in one of the discographies probably Mouldry.) finally there is supposed to be a pressing error/ sound defect on side two of most copies.

A superb example of free form jazz with extended saxophone, organ, piano solos and percussive noodling, from the ruminate mood to the exuberant. Spectacular!
