Peter Livingston Holsapple (born February 19, 1956) is an American musician, who formed, along with Chris Stamey, the dB's, a jangle-pop band from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He became the band's principal songwriter and singer after Stamey's departure. The band, with Stamey back in the fold, reformed with new material in 2005–2006. Holsapple was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, moving with his family to Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1962. He graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School.

Especially when coupled with glowing harmonies, the sound typified by such bands has often been a part of some very glorious, very timeless rock and roll. In 1991, Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey released Mavericks, and more than 16 years later, a listen to the album's reissue all the more assures its deserved place along the timeline of great heartland/jangle rock recordings of all-time. Formerly of North Carolina-originated band the dB's, which opened for . in the late '80s (the connection between the bands continued with Holsapple touring at times with .

Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey will perform perhaps their most beloved record, 1991's Mavericks, in its entirety, on Dec. 6, at Brooklyn's the Bell House. Although the pair's records with the dB's have found almost universal critical acclaim, it is Mavericks - with its Everly Brothers-style harmonies and more acoustic-based timbres - that often tops fans' playlists.
