Bob Dylan is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on March 19, 1962 by Columbia Records. Produced by Columbia's legendary talent scout John H. Hammond, who signed Dylan to the label, the album features folk standards, plus two original compositions, "Talkin' New York" and "Song to Woody".
Before the Flood is a live album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan and the Band, released on June 20, 1974, on Asylum Records in the United States and Island Records in the United Kingdom. While in later years earlier live recordings would be released, this was the first live album that Dylan released. It is the 15th album by Dylan and the seventh by the Band, and documents their joint 1974 American tour
Bob Dylan - vocals, guitar and harmonica Joan Baez - vocals on Disc 2, tracks 4, 5, 6 & 7 All songs written by Bob Dylan except "Silver Dagger," traditional, arranged by Joan Baez and Bob Dylan. Recorded October 31, 1964 at Philharmonic Hall, New York City. The singer and audience were by now as one; shouted requests filled the air, for "Chimes of Freedom," for anything, even for "Mary Had a Little Lamb. God, did I record that?" Dylan joked back, basking in the revelry. Live 1964 brings back a Bob Dylan on the cusp of that turmoil. It brings back a time between his scuffling sets at the downtown clubs and his arena-rock tours of the 1970s and after. It brings back a long gone era of intimacy between performer and audience, and the last strains of a self-aware New York bohemia before bohemia became diluted and mass marketed.
When baby-faced Bob Dylan entered the studio in late 1961 to record his debut, no one expected such greatness. The album is packed with spirited, well-executed covers of old blues and folk tunes-including many eyebrow-raisers such as Bukka White’s Fixin’ to Die -which proved Dylan’s immense talent for song interpretation
Blood on the Tracks is probably overall the better album, with less filler material. But Desire includes some of his greatest songs: Hurricane, Isis, Mozambique, and a wonderful band that included Emmylou Harris and Jacques Levy on fiddle. It's great to hear this collection of concert performances from that year done by the great band he had with him on tour, to read about the tour and see the pictures (his famous hat from the cover of Desire, a bare-foot Joan Baez on stage, Bob and Allen Ginsburg at Jack Kerouac's grave, Reuben Carter smiling despite the injustice.
Bob Dylan - Hurricane (Live TV show) Lyrics. Pistol shots ring out in the barroom night Enter Patty Valentine from the upper hall. We want to put his ass in stir We want to pin this triple murder on him He ain't no Gentleman Ji. Rubin could take a man out with just one punch But he never did like to talk about it all that much. It's my work, he'd say, and I do it for pay And when it's over I'd just as soon go on my way Up to some paradise Where the trout streams flow and the air is nice And ride a horse along a trail. But then they took him to the jail house Where they try to turn a man into a mouse
