The Starting Line is an American pop-punk band based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that formed in 1999.
Discography: The Starting Line. Anyways (Maxi-Single) (2016). Somebody's Gonna Miss Us (Live) (2009). Make Yourself At Home EP (2003). The Starting Line play a brand of emo pop-punk which will be familiar to those with a knowledge of Drive-Thru Records. In what seems to be the next sub-mainstream indie rock fad, with an over saturation of the market, this style is highlighted by slick packaging (both of the CD and the band), a lack of diversity and creativity in the music, an association to either New Found Glory or Get Up Kids, and poppy hooks which eventually grind into the listener's. ears in pain like consumption of too much sugared candy.
Starting Over is the fourth album by the 1970s power pop band Raspberries. It peaked at on the Billboard pop album chart in 1974. The LP generated the Billboard pop single "Overnight Sensation (Hit Record)"; a second single, "Cruisin' Music," had been issued as a single but was uncharted. Stylistically, Starting Over represented a more aggressive arena rock/hard rock sound compared to previous albums in a way reminiscent of The Who, which was one of the groups' biggest influences. Starting Over featured a new line-up, with Scott McCarl (Bass, Vocals), and Michael McBride (Drums), who had drummed with Carmen and Bryson in their previous band in the late 60's, Cyrus Erie. Jim Bonfanti and Dave Smalley left the band the previous year.
