Loving You is the first soundtrack album by American rock and roll singer Elvis Presley. It was released by RCA Victor Records in mono, LPM 1515, in July 1957 to accompany his first starring film, Loving You (1957). These are the first sessions where Steve Sholes is officially listed as producer.

If you think of Loving You as simply an Elvis Presley album rather than a somewhat misleadingly packaged soundtrack, it was actually one of his more coherent and cohesive long-players, assembled from sessions all conducted in the first two months of 1957

Elvis' first starring movie lets him rock out on some of the finest songs of his early career. Accompanied by guitarist Scotty Moore and the Jordanaires, he sounds thoroughly jazzed up in "Mean Woman Blues," "Hot Dog," "(Let's Have A) Party," and, especially "Got a Lot O' Livin' To Do!" The studio add-ons, like "Don't Leave Me Now" and "Tell Me Why," are ballads that find Elvis in melodramatic, affected, and occasionally self-mocking form.
