Picking the best rock albums is pretty much an impossible task. These days always close to the top of any list of the best albums of all time, OK Computer is the album that took Radiohead far into the mainstream, while retaining rockist cred. Combining prog with alternative influences, they came up with a style that was supple, subtle and sensuous. Afterwards, every self-respecting rock band cited it as a touchstone. It’s not just one of the great debut albums, it’s one of the great albums full-stop. You can hear its incomparable sound and bravura attitude echoing through the 1980s and beyond, its success revitalising not just the Sunset Strip, but similar scenes all over the world.

Nevermind is truly great rock album but number two? You people need your art spoon fed to you. This list is a joke. It is a life changing! This is one of the greatest albums with some of the greatest tracks of all time for example. This was not even the best album of the year it came out, much less better than Sgt. Pepper, Revolver, or the White Album. The best selling debut album in this century. Appalled that this made a greatest albums list of any kind.
Reissue in 1999 with 5 bonustracks by Axe Killer Records under the name "Stick It". 1. Out of the Night. 3. Save Your Love (Rock Radio Remix).
The White Stripes, ‘White Blood Cells’. Sympathy for the Record Industry, 2001. The third album by Jack and Meg White was the right dynamite for a mainstream breakthrough. Jack’s Delta-roadhouse fantasies, Detroit-garage-rock razzle and busted-love lyricism, as well as Meg’s toy-thunder drumming all peaked at once. Wilco‘s great leap forward was a mix of rock tradition, electronics, oddball rhythms and experimental gestures. Jeff Tweedy’s lyrics pitted hope against doubt, with all bets off. Listen here.
