The Most Incredible Thing is the score for the 2011 ballet of the same name, based on the eponymous 1870 fairy tale by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. It contains music written and performed by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe of English synthpop duo Pet Shop Boys. The album was released in the United Kingdom on 14 March 2011 by Parlophone.

Comprising a silk cloth bound hard board slipcase containing a hardback book with seven record sleeves. Six of these house heavyweight 180-gram vinyl records pressed on the EMI 1400

Tennant and Lowe’s ballet score is full of wonderful moments. Looking over the bands featured on pop compilation Now 8, released back in 1986, one could never see an act like Cutting Crew writing a ballet score. The Challenge echoes the New York excitement of their debut album Please, while the piano-led Help Me is haunting. It does meander at times, but peaks need their valleys, and the dancers presumably need a sit down. It doubtlessly works better as a full performance, but as a stand-alone soundtrack has wonderful moments nonetheless.

Tennant and Lowe proposed Andersen's story (about a competition in a mythical kingdom where the King announces that whoever invents the most incredible thing will win the hand of the Princess in marriage and half of the Kingdom) as the basis for a new ballet to Sadler's Wells Theatre in London in 2007 after a friend, the then-Royal Ballet principal, Ivan Putrov, asked Tennant if Pet Shop Boys would consider writing a piece of music for him to dance to at Sadler's Wells  . Tennant and Lowe composed most of Act One in autumn 2008 and the rest of the score in 2010. They approached Sven Helbig to write the orchestrations.

The Most Incredible Thing is the Pet Shop Boys' first foray into the world of ballet scoring, and it’s as slick and smart as expected. Composed for London’s Sadlers Wells Theater adaptation of a late-period Hans Christian Andersen story, this must be a welcome souvenir for audience members, but those not in attendance will find the two-disc set a bit much, and with so many story-driven twists and audio cues, it’s too demanding for background listening

A limited run of 550 in the UK came with an artcard of the cover that was signed by both Neil & Chris. I know that they were sold via the official website, but don't know if they were available elsewhere. My copy was bought in the Newbury Comics chain in the US, and is the book packaging "made in the EU." It also had an artcard with both signatures, and on the back was written "US 27 / 250" which indicates a signed run was also done for the USA.
