Their debut album Sixteen Stone of the London grunge band Bush was already released in 1995, but it took almost a year before it was noticed by the general public. Meanwhile the band in Netherlands and North America has become a particularly popular band. Razorblade Suitcase is their new album.
Actually, Razorblade Suitcase, Bush's second album, cribs heavily from two of Albini's best productions, In Utero and Pixies' Surfer Rosa - they even hired Vaughan Oliver, the designer behind Surfer Rosa, to do the artwork. Of course, relying so much on their idols only brings out Bush's weakness.
Razorblade Suitcase is the second album by the British grunge band Bush, released in November 1996 by Trauma Records. The album is widely believed to have signaled the demise of the "grunge" genre, as it was one of the last widely-known albums released bearing a grunge-sound.
Bush - Razorblade Suitcase (1996) The Players: Gavin Rossdale: Lead Vocals, Guitars, Nigel Pulsford: Guitars Dave Parsons: Bass Robin Goodridge: Drums. Rising from grunge, just in time for the alternative craze of the mid Nineties, this album sounds almost like it hasn't decided which way to go. Of course, there are the frequent Grunge hits, but there are just some songs that really don't belong on the album at all. Take Swallowed, for example. It's a masterful grunge piece, as dark as it is rocking.
Exclusively for Prime members. Sample this album Artist (Sample). I think Gavin Rossdale is a good singer and I am faithfully waiting for the next Bush album. Razorblade Suitcase" most definitely sounds like a Nirvana record. And yes the songs are very under-produced. But it's like that in a good way.
