Bitches Brew Live is a live album by Miles Davis. The album was released in February 2011 and contains material compiled from two concert performances. Most of the songs on the album originally appeared on Bitches Brew. The first three tracks were recorded at the Newport Jazz Festival in July 1969, nine months before the release of Bitches Brew, while the rest of the album was recorded at 1970 Isle of Wight Festival.

Bitches’ Brew is a further extension of the basic idea he investigated in his two previous albums, Filles De Kilimanjaro and In A Silent Way. In a larger sense, however, the record is yet another step in the unceasing process of evolution Miles has undergone since the Forties. The man never stops to rest on his accomplishments. Driven forward by a creative elan unequaled in the history of American music, he incorporates each successive triumph into the next leap forward. The present Miles Davis organization is certainly no exception to this tradition. There is more pure talent here than in any group of any kind currently performing. Chick Corea’s piano is so full of technical and conceptual innovations that one is caught between a feeling of wonderment and the gnawing question, I wonder how he does all those things?

Bitches Brew dives deep into experimental, psychedelic, and abrasive jazz fusion, combined with elements of avant-garde jazz and avant-funk. Of the six tracks featured on the original release, three are over fifteen minutes long. Davis was previously known for his cool jazz sound, something which Bitches Brew throws away completely

Davis never really put much care into any of his album or song titles. Even Birth of the Cool-a title so associated with his persona and genre-defining playing-was penned by someone else. As for that Birth of the Cool shit, I don't understand how they came to call it that. Someone just dropped that label on m. Aside from Brew, the only time he had any interest in album covers was when he wanted to show off one of his ladies. Otherwise, titles and labels were a complete waste of time. Davis's new direction during Bitches Brew and for what followed was that everything was part of a whole. Similar to Brown's bands, there were no huge solos. It did not matter when anyone started or stopped.

Focuses on the final chapter in the landmark collaboration between Davis and saxophonist John Coltrane: their last live performances together. Recorded in support of Kind of Blue, the best-selling jazz album of all time. 4CD set includes concerts recorded in Paris, Copenhagen and Stockholm from original master tapes. 1LP features the concert from Copenhagen and 2LP features the concerts from Paris.
