Soft Machine Legacy released their fifth album in October 2010: a 58-minute album entitled Live Adventures recorded live in October 2009 in Austria and Germany during a European tour. Founding Soft Machine bassist Kevin Ayers died in February 2013, aged 68, while Daevid Allen dien in March 2015 following a short battle with cancer, aged 7. .A return to the name "Soft Machine" (2015–2019). In September and October 2015, it was announced that the band Soft Machine Legacy (made of guitarist John Etheridge, drummer John Marshall, bass player Roy Babbington and sax, flute and keyboard player Theo Travis) would be performing under the name "Soft Machine" in late 2015 and early 2016: two shows in the Netherlands and Belgium in early December 2015[nb.

Recorded May 10, 2005 @ De Kade, Zaandam (Holland) on mini-disk straight from the soundboard. Mastered at Delta Studio, Canterbury (UK), May 26, 2005.

Like Soft Works, Soft Machine Legacy is a more overtly fusion-oriented project than the other offshoots. This time the group also mixes classic Soft Machine material with more recent compositions from each member. Etheridge's "Ash, from his 2003 album of the same name, is a strong vehicle for Dean's lyrical yet free approach and Etheridge's fleet-fingered runs, while his "Big Creese rocks more than any prior Soft-related project. The group revisits Dean's ballad "Baker's Street, a twist on Soft Works' version, "Baker's Treat.

This live set is a reunion of sorts of various elements of the long-lived, multiple personality British neo-jazz outfit, including drummer John Marshall, who took over after Robert Wyatt's departure, longtime bassist Hugh Hopper, mid-1970s guitarist John Etheridge, and saxophonist and keyboardist Elton Dean, who died in February 2006, just after this album's release.

Soft Machine Legacy (Etheridge, Dean, Hopper, Marshall) - Kings & Queens (Live In Zaandam). from MoonJune Years (Sampler) by Soft Machine. Dedicated To You But You Weren't Listening - The Music Of Soft Machine, arranged by DELTA SAXOPHONE QUARTET.
