Ammonia Avenue is the seventh studio album by the British progressive rock band The Alan Parsons Project, released on 7 February 1984 by Arista Records. The Phil Spector-influenced "Don't Answer Me" was the album's lead single, and reached the Top 15 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock Tracks charts, as well as the fourth position on the Adult Contemporary chart. The single also reached the Top 20 in several countries and represents the last big hit for the Alan Parsons Project.

Ammonia Avenue has a lot of good tracks, comes close to being the equal of Eye in the Sky. The album opens with "Prime Time", a very good song. It was unusual for the Project to open an album with a song that wasn't an instrumental. This changed with Ammonia Avenue. Let Me Go Home" is about as close as the Project came to rocking out on a song. Ammonia Avenue is one of the best, most listenable albums of the 1980s. While the thematic approach is less evident than on other albums by Alan Parsons, there is not a single weak song. Particular highlights are Don't Answer Me, Prime Time and Ammonia Avenue. Don't Answer Me is one of the most tuneful songs that Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson ever wrote. The remastered sound is exceptionally good. This is due both to technical expertise and the involvement of Alan Parsons himself.
