British guitarist and singer-songwriter Eric Clapton has released 24 studio albums, 26 singles, 18 compilations, 14 live albums and six soundtrack albums as a solo artist and scores of collaborations on records with other artists. Before his career as a solo artist, Clapton became famous as a guitarist in several bands, including The Yardbirds (1963–65), John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers (1965–66), Cream (1966–68), Blind Faith (1968–69) and Derek and the Dominos (1970–71).

Only 11 left in stock (more on the way). Customers who bought this item also bought. If i had to have one Eric Clapton album, I think I'd choose these recordings over any of his other albums. Unlike the studio recordings, these songs get a bit of the "live" jolt that some of his studio work lacked; and it sums up most of his best songs from the seventies save for "Hello old Friend" and "After Midnight", two songs I wish had been included.

Crossroads was a box set that appealed to both beginners and fanatics. Crossroads 2: Live in the Seventies only appeals to fanatics. Spanning four discs and consisting almost entirely of live material (there are a handful of studio outtakes), this is music that will only enthrall completists and archivists. The key word for the entire album is detail - it is an album for studying the intricacies of Eric Clapton's playing and how it evolved.
