Track 19-20 from the film "Key to the North" (1989).

A pastiche of concert and studio recordings from The Albion's words-and-music presentations from 1977 to 1989, it's a nicely-crafted program, pleasantly strung together. Track Listing - Disc 1. Sample.

English Songs Volume 2 and Shirley Sings Irish were both released in 1964. The Sweet Primeroses. 1967 saw the essentially southern English song collection, The Sweet Primeroses, With Collins accompanied for the first time by her sister Dolly's portative organ. Collins married her second husband Ashley Hutchings in 1971. 186 He left Steeleye Span that year and he and Collins assembled the first incarnation of the Albion Country Band to accompany her on the 1971 album No Roses, with a total of 27 musicians participating over numerous sessions. Shirley also provided guest vocals on the Hutchings project Morris On in 1972

The resulting album, Albion Heart (1995), is usually considered the best of this later period and marked the beginning of While and Matthews’ long and productive partnership. It was also unusual for the lack of traditional folk instruments and the four were soon joined by violinist and mandolin player Chris Leslie for the last recording of this era Demi Paradise (1996), before Leslie left for Fairport Convention and While and Matthews for solo and joint projects. Live performances of this era have been released as Acousticity on Tour (2004). and Albion Heart on Tour (2004). While Hutchings continued to pursue other projects he revived the Albion Band in an acoustic format for seasonal tours in 2005, allowing them to play smaller venues which could usually be easily filled. Songs From The Shows (Road Goes On Forever, 1997). Happy Accident (HTD/Transatlantic, 1998).

The Albion Band also appears in this compilation. Tracks of Disc 1. 1. Rainbow Over The Hill. 2. 'Til The Time We Meet Again. 3. Frozen Man. 4. I Drew My Ship. Songs From the Shows 1 & 2. Released in 2002. Vintage, Volume 2: On the Road 1972-1980.

ALBION came into existence in 1992 when members of two dissolving bands from Cracow decided to start a new band. At the beginning the band consisted of the following four members: Jerzy Antczak (guitars), Krzysztof Malec (keyboards), Paweł Konieczny (drums) and Tomasz Kaczmarczyk (bass guitar). Which is really a pity, for the band showed that they were very good and unique from the very start. Ok, the first three tracks of the CD are not particularly convincing for anyone who is familiar with their latter output: nice stuff, good melodies for sure, but not quite outstanding. Songs like Sarajevo, Jeszcze śmierć chowam w kieszeń and Golgotha show that Albion had their personal sound well developed, specially on the hands of guitarist Jerzy Antczak, who is clearly the star here, along with Anna Batko emotional vocal deliverance.
