Tribal Gathering is a kid friendly event: natural and safe environment with many activities in the eco-cultural program suitable for the little ones, specially the arts, crafts and hands-on workshops. A truly magical place where they can experience many different cultures sharing with one another in a symbiotic way. The festival provides a profound sense of respect and harmony between cultures of the Earth which we believe is crucial for our future. Tribal Gathering does not offer childcare services or babysitting. Parents are at all times responsible for their kids.
Tribal Gathering was a dance music festival that catered for different types of dance music cultures such as drum and bass, techno and house. The original promoters of Universe (Paul Shurey, Rob Vega, former Bath Rugby Captain Roger Spurrell, Tennant and Jill Trick) had been organising events since the heady days of 1989 when raves such as Sunrise, Raindance and Perception were in their pomp

Tribal Gathering Lyrics. She'll hand to you a stick of sandalwood A little smile and then she'll disappear Back into a crowd of happy people Looking like they never came from here. Strange thing, gathering of tribes. Pretty little whirling butterfly All the prettiest girls go dancing by Caught up in the sound of talking drums Lost herself out in the wheel of sound.
Then Tribal Gathering arrived and my parents bought me and my best mate 8 tickets so we could go and celebrate my 18th birthday. I think I still have a CD and the flyer somewhere in the loft. Over 400 people travelled. Many from Bristol, but I also had people on those coaches from parts of Europe, a couple from San Francisco and even Canada who had come to the UK just for that party, such was the reputation that Universe had built for putting on great parties with diverse line-ups and the flyer sums that up. What was the crowd and atmosphere like at TG 96? 93 was all ravers, whereas tribal 96 was more diverse as a crowd due to the nature of the event and acts that were performing.
Music and dance is completely intertwined with their daily lives, with hunting and farming practices, with weddings, funerals, and songs for heroes. It's a world away from the jazz-tinged soul of Addis as captured on those celebrated Ethiopiques CDs. When the groups come to perform in Arba Minch, many of them are discovering other participating tribes for the first time. Some find that it's a place where deep tribal conflict eases. The performers' dress is as diverse as the music. There are people carrying spears and shields and wearing monkey-skin crowns. Some sport leopardskin cloaks, others beaded hair and bare chests.
