It's Album Time is, as advertised, disco producer Todd Terje's first full-length album, and its title sets the tone: casual, confident, and unburdened by the imagined need for significance that scares so many good dance producers into losing their cool when given a bigger platform. Terje is a careful artist that's fluent in history, an expert with texture, and possessing a grasp on composition more akin to a 1960s film composer than a contemporary dance producer. Large stretches of the album are purely instrumental, foreshadowing the years of synth experiments with Utopia that were just around the corner. The murk subsides every so often, revealing either exquisite ballads ("A Dream Goes on Forever"), blistering rock ("Heavy Metal Kids") or, more murk and dementia (particularly with how Gilbert & Sullivan rear their heads not only on the requisite novelty "An Elpee's Worth of Tunes," but an honest-to-goodness cover of "Lord Chancellor's.

I don't know the original, but the JK Walker remix is one of the best tunes there is. It has a standard buildup which makes good use of the very short vocal catchphrase before the bass and kick start off. After that, the deep offbeat bassline is accompanied by a growling deep synth which filters in nicely, and the very complex, percussive use of 3 synths alongside eachother, makes the intro already peak time material. After a breakdown of sheer power, the most beautiful pads and lead synth immerge and after a while the tune hits off again with a thunderous climax. Really class-A material, and undoubtedly one of JK's finest works to date.
