Kinks is the self-titled debut album by English rock band The Kinks, released in 1964. It was released with three tracks omitted as You Really Got Me in the United States. The album was re-released in 1998 in the UK on Castle Records with twelve bonus tracks. This reissue was itself reissued in 2004 on the Sanctuary label.

Kinda Kinks' is somewhat of a crossover album for the band. When The Kinks' debut was released, it was very raw and very heavy for its time. It was the kind of album that parents would not want their kids listening to. 'Kinda Kinks' changes that up a bit by having some softer, more poppy type songs mixed in as well. Some good examples of this are "Don't Ever Change" and "Nothing in the World Can Stop Me from Worryin' 'Bout That Girl". From what I've read about the band, apparently they didn't like this album much when it was released. Ray Davies said he felt that it was rushed and not as good as it could have been. Even so, this was still a very popular album for the band and the song "Tired of Waiting for You" became a huge hit for them. Fun Facts: "Dancing in the Street" was originally recorded by Martha and the Vandellas. Also, The Pretenders covered "I Go to Sleep" in 1981.

The Kinks, formed by brothers Ray Davies and Dave Davies back in 1963, are reforming and releasing a new album, and going on tour. Image: Screenshot via YouTube, Channel 4 News. If you’re a fan of The Kinks, then there’s some good news. The band, formed by brothers Ray and Dave Davies back in 1963, are reforming. Not only that, but they’re working on some new music too, which will be their first new material in 25 years. The band, famous for classic songs like You Really Got Me, Waterloo Sunset and Lola, haven’t released any new songs since their last studio album released in 1993, which was called Phobia. Their last performance was a few years later in 1996, after which they disbanded
