1 - . utilleux: Sur Le Meme Accord 2 - . artok: Concerto For Violin And Orchestra n., Sz 112 3 - . travinsky: Concerto en Re. Go Unlimited. Mutter also dominates with a robust, forward performance of the Stravinsky concerto, and even though her approach is more showy and romantic than Paul Sacher's trim neo-classical accompaniment, the two are sympathetic partners, and once again Mutter is capable of so much variety and shading in hr palying that she gives added interest to Stravinsky's score, which can sound a. little dry and mechanical - or to be more polite, chaste and discreet. Still, I would turn to Vengerov or Perlman for more character and fire in this work.

Béla Bartók's Violin Concerto No. 2, BB 117 was written in 1937–38. During the composer's life, it was known simply as his Violin Concerto. His other violin concerto, Violin Concerto No. 1, Sz. 36, BB 48a was written in the years 1907–1908, but only published in 1956, after the composer's death, as "Violin Concerto No. 1, Op. posth. Bartók composed the concerto in a difficult stage of his life, when he was filled with serious concerns about the growing strength of fascism.
Henri Dutilleux wrote his nocturne for violin and orchestra, Sur le même accord, for Mutter, and this live, world-premiere recording of the debut performance demonstrates why composers trust her with their music. Dutilleux 's work is as fastidious and well-crafted as ever, transparently orchestrated to keep the violin part clear at all times, and expansively drawn to highlight Mutter 's rich lines and sweeping bowing. Her 1991 recording with Seiji Ozawa and the Boston Symphony Orchestra of Bartók 's Violin Concerto No. 2 is a fine choice, for it fits comfortably with Dutilleux 's piece in its dark moods and subdued timbres.
Sur le même accord (On only one chord) is a piece by French composer Henri Dutilleux for solo violin and orchestra. It was composed for violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, and was premiered by her on 28 Apr 2002 in London with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Kurt Masur. The piece lasts about 10 minutes in performance. Dutilleux describes the piece as "a nocturne-like work". Concerto en ré for Violin and Orchestra: II. Concerto en ré for Violin and Orchestra: III. Aria II. Concerto en ré for Violin and Orchestra: IV. Capriccio.

Anne-Sophie Mutter's Bartók Second is clearly one of the best around. The first movement is a difficult piece to bring off, if only because the beginning is so simple and tuneful compared to later developments. Mutter proves an excellent guide to the music's ongoing development, never losing site of that folk-like opening and always returning to it as if to say, "See, it was there all along!" A great supporter of contemporary music, she has performed and recorded a large number of works composed especially for here of which En Reve (Dreaming) is a typical example.
