Pepper's (Big Daddy album). Sgt. Pepper's is a tribute album consisting of covers of the entirety of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. The album was recorded by Big Daddy in 1992 and features covers which combine the lyrics and some musical elements from the original Beatles versions with stylistic elements of certain genres and musicians, mostly ones popularized in the 1920s-1950s. The album's release coincided with the 25th anniversary of the original Beatles album

Their last studio album, Sgt. Pepper’s, is arguably their peak. Big Daddy – Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (The Beatles cover). Let’s start at the very beginning, where the band introduce themselves as doo-wop specialists before downshifting into Poison Ivy -era Coasters. The stage is set for the inevitable game of spot-the-influence, but the songs continue to reward long after the revelation – the Who, me? moment in the opening track is guaranteed to raise a smile. Big Daddy – With a Little Help From My Friends (The Beatles cover)

Here they took on the awesome challenge of recording every track from the classic Beatles album in their own inimitable way (in other words, doing them as ’50s and early ’60s-style cover versions). First, we look at the song With a Little Help from My Friends, performed here with a definite Johnny Mathis influence. Finally, we end with the song A Day in the Life, with an obvious parallel to Buddy Holly’s Oh Boy. Listen as the song takes a chilling (and very effective) turn at the end. A Day in the Life. If you’d like the whole album, you can find it here.

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Band's fourth album, just released, is their magnum opus: "Sgt. Pepper" in toto, Big Daddy style. Set ran 40 minutes, about same length as the album. Encore segment included several of Big Daddy’s previous recordings, including Rick James’ Super Freak as an Everly Bros. ballad, an Eddie Cochranized version of Van Halen’s Jump, a very successful Chuck Berry-style reading of Vanilla Ice’s Ice, Ice Baby, and a version of Michael Jackson’s The Way You Make Me Feel that was apparently supposed to remind listeners. of Huey Smith and the Clowns but sounded more like Bill Haley and the Comets.
