His previous album, Introducing David Peaston is an excellent recording. It demonstrates that if Mr. Peaston only had half the talent he does, he could more than hold his own against artists like Brian McKnight, Luther Vandross, or Babyface. Maybe if he started writing more like the aforementioned artists, he could have done more in his singing career. Mr. Peaston has only co-written a total of two songs between these two albums, and I think these are some of the better songs on which they appear. Who knows? Maybe he'll surprise us with something new.

David Peaston (March 13, 1957 – February 1, 2012) was an American R&B and gospel singer who in 1990 won a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist. He was mostly known for the singles, "Two Wrongs (Don't Make it Right)" and "Can I?", the latter of which was originally recorded by Eddie Kendricks. He was a native of Saint Louis, Missouri.
Although he possessed a magnetic, glorious voice with a deep, rich sound ideal for heartache ballads, he also needed quality material with strong lyrics, since he wasn't a songwriter. He didn't get it on this record, and the results were a disappointing collection of throwaway urban contemporary tracks ill-suited to his delivery and approach.
