Blue Sky: The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra (also known as Mr. Blue Sky) is an album of re-recordings by Jeff Lynne of hits by Electric Light Orchestra. It was issued in 2012 by Frontiers simultaneously with Lynne's cover album Long Wave. Jeff Lynne told Rolling Stone magazine that the idea came from him listening to the original Electric Light Orchestra recordings, and thinking that he could produce a better result having since had a long career as a record producer

About the album: Out of the Blue is ELO's seventh studio album, released in October 1977. Written and produced by ELO frontman Jeff Lynne, the double album is among the most commercially successful records in the group's history, selling about 10 million copies worldwide. Mr. Blue Sky. Unlike Lucas, Lynne doesn't paint over his original work, turning it into something vaguely reminiscent of the past: with Mr. Blue Sky: The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra, he simply re-creates his old arrangements with new technology. Whether this is enough for fans to trade in their original ELO hits album in favor of this crisp new model is simply a matter of taste - many may prefer the heavily compressed analog originals, as that's what they grew up with; after a quiet decade, hardcore fans will certainly treasure any new Lynne music, even if it is merely.

Blue Sky is a song by the rock group Electric Light Orchestra. The song forms the fourth and last track on the "Concerto for a Rainy Day" suite on side three of the original two-LP set. The song features a heavily vocoded voice singing the phrase "Mister Blue Sky", (from 2:23 to 2:39, or from 2:20 to 2:34 on the 30th anniversary CD). Although the ending vocoded voice may sound like "Mister Blue Sky-yi", it is actually "Please turn me over" as it is the end of side three, and the listener is instructed to flip the LP over.
