When Throbbing Gristle broke up in 1981, members Carter and Tutti signed with Rough Trade Records and began recording as Chris & Cosey. They recorded four albums for the label using electronics, sampling, Cosey's vocals and cornet playing.

Following on from their widely acclaimed 2012 live album, Transverse, Chris Carter, Cosey Fanni Tutti (Chris and Cosey, Throbbing Gristle) and Nik Colk Void (Factory Floor) collaborate again on their first studio-based album. A hymn to the pulse and a worship of the rhythm, the work of Carter Tutti Void has birthed a new form of tribal trance music that was first brought to the world’s attention via the skeleton chrome of 2012s Transverse, an album that bathed in the glory of repetition and distorting truths – and that in the process scared many.

Tutti continues to release solo recordings, including a retrospective deluxe box set with many photos and text, called Time To Tell, and she continues to work as a performance artist in the Dada tradition. Time To Tell (1983 Flowmotion). Electronic Ambient Remixes 4: Selflessness (2004 Conspiracy International). Mist While Sleeping (2010 Dirter Promotions). Carter Tutti Void Transverse (2012 Mute). TUTTI (2019 Conspiracy International).

Recorded, produced and mastered at Carter and Tutti’s Studio47 in Norfolk, the album’s six tracks began life as rhythms laid down by Carter, on top of which Tutti and Void were able to improvise with live vocals and instrumentation.
