Performance Rockin' the Fillmore is the 1971 live double-LP/single-CD by English blues-rock group Humble Pie. It reached on the Billboard 200, and hit the UK Top 40. The hour-long set contains one original song and several covers.

Smokin' is the fifth studio album by the English group Humble Pie, released in 1972. The album peaked at on the . Billboard 200 album chart, and hit the UK Top 30. The album was Humble Pie's first following the departure of guitarist Peter Frampton, which placed singer and co-founder Steve Marriott as the band's de facto leader. Smokin' is the band's best-selling album, due in large part to the success of the single "30 Days in the Hole".

On 1971's 'Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore,' Humble Pie finally captured lightning in a bottle. Recorded over a four-show, two-night stand at the legendary Fillmore East - home to some of the most storied concert recordings ever made, from Aretha to the Allmans - the live double album showcased the band blowing the roof off the grand old joint.

Humble Pie recorded four albums and several singles before achieving its . breakthrough with their 1971 the double-live set Performance: Rockin' The Fillmore. Drawn from four shows played over two consecutive nights at Bill Graham's legendary Fillmore East, Performance captured a red-hot band firing on all cylinders, distilling the crowd-pleasing heavy blues-rock style that had come to dominate the Brit foursome's repertoire, and which would help to lay the foundation for the sound that would soon become known as heavy metal

Marriott always believed Dee Anthony had syphoned off band earnings to promote his new project, Frampton and his album Frampton Comes Alive!.

The original Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore was one of the classic double-live albums of the '70s: a two-LP set from a band that had yet to have a hit but were earning a reputation as in-concert monsters, grinding out a living on a circuit that brought them from coast to coast in America.
