1-8. The Man Who Sold The World. After reading Woody Woodmansey's book I decided to seek this album out because he said what a great time they had doing it. I was surprised how cheap it was when I purchased it from the label and it is worth every cent I paid and more ! The musicianship is top notch and very faithful to the original recordings but that little bit fresher. The vocalists are very good but no matter how hard they try they can't match the vocal range that Bowie had and I don't think that anyone could. Woody's drumming is excellent and I have always loved Tony Visconti's bass sound that.

A special performance of David Bowie's classic album The Man Who Sold The World with a band that included the original rhythm section, producer Tony Visconti and Woody Woodmansey, Vocalist Glen Gregory, Steve Norman on Guitar and Sax and Maggi and Lisa Ronson on Backing Vocals. Marc sang After All from the album and Watch That Man with Glen. Стандартная лицензия YouTube.

Gregory is performing the whole of Bowie’s 1971 album The Man Who Sold The World at three gigs in September, fronting a band featuring original drummer Woody Woodmansey and bassist Tony Visconti – later The Spiders From Mars’ sticksman and producer respectively. I’m cramming lyrics like a kid the night before his A-Levels, Gregory told Classic Pop. I’ve been singing along to these songs for 40 years but, crucially, I’ve been singing some of the lines wrong. It’s Lennon’s on sale again, not Lemons on sale again, and I mustn’t get that wrong on the night. I get to sing that with Tony Visconti and Woody Woodmansey? Bloody hell! He added: Looking at videos of Bowie from the time, he’s not playing the same persona all the time. I’m not going to try to emulate him, but Bowie’s influence is in me anyway, so I hope there’s enough of him there already for people to enjoy it.

The Supermen - Tony Visconti and Woody Woodmansey's Holy Holy. 11. Hang Onto Yourself. They are back up by Glenn Gregory (Heaven 17) and Steve Norman (Spandau Ballet) and Mark Almond (Soft Cell). These are all David Bowie tracks with the first disc being the whole of "The Man Who Sold the World". One person found this helpful.

Mick 'Woody' Woodmansey (born 4 February 1951, in Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire) is an English rock drummer known for his work with David Bowie and The Spiders from Mars. With the death of Bowie in January 2016, he is the last surviving member of the Ziggy Stardust studio band. He also co-leads, with Tony Visconti, the supergroup Holy Holy, performing David Bowie songs from the 1970s, including the full The Man Who Sold the World album. Woodmansey toured with Holy Holy in September 2014, and followed up with tours of the UK, USA and Japan during the following two years. The group has featured Erdal Kızılçay, Glenn Gregory, Steve Norman, Marc Almond and James Stevenson. Woodmansey published his autobiography Spider From Mars: My Life With David Bowie in 2016.

Holy Holy, an all-star line-up featuring Tony Visconti and Woody Woodmansey, will continue their North America tour performing David Bowie’s album The Man Who Sold the World following two sold out David Bowie tribute shows at Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall in NYC. Woodmansey and Visconti were members of Bowie’s original Spiders from Mars. Woodmansey played drums on five of Bowie’s albums, including The Man Who Sold the World, Ziggy Stardust, Hunky Dory and Aladdin Sane. Visconti played bass on Bowie’s The Man Who Sold the World, and produced many of his albums, including the recently.

David Bowie’s long-term producer Tony Visconti and Mick Woody Woodmansey – the only surviving member of The Spider’s From Mars – will perform Bowie’s third album The Man Who Sold The World, from 1970, in full. They will be joined by an ensemble of ten musicians including Spandau Ballet saxophone player Steve Norman and Heaven 17’s Glenn Gregory, The Guardian reports

Woody Woodmansey's Holy Holy. Woody Woodmansey's Holy Holy is a supergroup playing the songs of David Bowie from 1969 to 1973. Headline act for Dublin Bowie Festival booked!! Tickets on sale next Wednesday at 10am Heaven 17's Glenn Gregory on lead vox too! 8 Mayıs, 19:20 ·. Herkese Açık.

Holy Holy plays songs from Bowie’s The Man Who Sold the World and other tunes Thursday at Portland's Asylum. In 1970 Bowie released his third album, The Man Who Sold the World. Bowie himself wasn’t interested but Tony Visconti was all in. Heaven 17 singer Glenn Gregory was recruited along with guitarist James Stevenson (The Cult, Gene Loves Jezebel, X), guitarist Paul Cuddeford (Ian Hunter, Bob Geldof), keys player Berenice Scott and Terry Edwards on sax and acoustic guitars. Woodmansey dubbed the band Holy Holy after a Bowie song. They played four shows in the UK that received huge accolades. A double live album that includes TMWSTW and several classic Bowie tunes were released and the band decided to keep Holy Holy going.

Well worth the money , whatever you pay for it .
