Cory McKay (born April 26, 1970), better known by his stage name Cormega, is an American rapper and songwriter. His first musical debut was sparked by a shout-out from Nas on his song "One Love", from the critically acclaimed Illmatic album during Cormega's time in prison. Cormega was born in Brooklyn and raised in New York City, forming childhood friendships with future rappers such as Nas, Havoc and Capone.
Cormega brings closure to his seventh studio album, Mega Philosophy with arguably the deepest song he has ever written. This is the final point, the climax of Mega Philosophy, since here he comes to the end of the road - road to finding himself - he’s been travelling for the duration of the whole record. He has found himself, and he has found a poet, philosopher, and, most importantly, a speaker for his community.
The Realness is the debut studio album by Queensbridge rapper Cormega. Cormega rose to fame in the mid-90s as an original member of The Firm crew, along with Nas, AZ and Foxy Brown, appearing on the song "Affirmative Action" from the Nas album It Was Written. After being booted from the group, Cormega signed a record deal with Def Jam Recordings, and recorded The Testament. The album was shelved, and Cormega was dropped from label, joining LandSpeed Records for his first official release.
Though I walk through the Valley of Death I never got lost or took cowardice steps I move honorably, gained a lot of respect Saw of poverty but wouldn't trade God for success In fact maybe I'm too advanced for crack babies My impact is similar to Basquiat paintings Visually fascinating, reality rap - not the fabricated We'll. I stay grindin' when the thirst's up Hip-hop my bitch, watch how I work her! Short nights make the days longer And your problems start to weigh on ya Gotta pray when they prey on ya Feel kinda funny when the four pounds stays on ya You think it's much better to hustle for European luxury, American muscle It's bricks or bread in the duffel or two long guns Beware of the.
