The Devil's Rain is the seventh studio album by horror punk band the Misfits, released October 4, 2011 through their own label Misfits Records. It is the band's first album in eight years, following 2003's covers record Project 1950, and the first of original material since 1999's Famous Monsters. It is also the only release by the band's lineup of Jerry Only, Dez Cadena, and Eric "Chupacabra" Arce. The Devil's Rain was produced by Ed Stasium, who previously worked with the band on Famous Monsters.

Released in 2011, The Devil’s Rain marks phase three of the Misfits, and it is the first album of original material since Famous Monsters, released 12 years prior. In this incarnation, the group’s last original member, Jerry Only, takes the frontman role and is joined by guitarist Dez Cadena (Black Flag) and drummer Eric Chupacabra Arce (Murphy’s Law) - a lineup that was road-tested on their ‘50s covers album, Project 1950. Misfits purists who live and die by the Danzig-led era shouldn’t expect to be converted. He may be a devil-locked punk icon, but he sounds an awful lot like Pat Boone, and his presence behind the microphone is just as intimidating. Musically, the three-piece fares better, but is hindered by flat production and suffers from the fact that the group never tries to expand on the vocabulary established 30 years ago.

The Devil's Rain is not just a continuation of a historic legacy, it's a total reboot ushering in a new era of terror. In a sense, it's the debut album from the legendary Misfits of this decade. From fans of their classics, to newcomers discovering the band for the very first time, The Devil's Rain sets the bar, and redefines the ferocity and melody that has made the Misfits omnipresent and immortal.

While the legend and the logo live on, you’d be hard pushed to say that the resuscitated Misfits sans-Danzig has had quite the same impact or influence, now more akin to the later entries in a slasher movie franchise than anything new or shocking. Following on from the aberrant ode to Sun Records-era rock’n’roll that was 2003’s Project 1950, sole OG member Jerry Only has once more crawled from the grave and assembled a troupe of shambling henchmen in the form of long-time collaborator and former Black Flagsman Dez Cadena and new drummer Eric ‘Chupacabra’ Arce for the band’s first album.

The Misfits is a boxed set of material by the horror punk band the Misfits, released in 1996 by Caroline Records. Packaged in a coffin-shaped, velvet-lined box, the set includes four compact discs covering most of the band's recorded material from the years when Glenn Danzig was their singer and songwriter.
