Just One Night is a 1980 double album by Eric Clapton, recorded live at the Budokan Theatre, Tokyo, Japan, December 1979 when Clapton was touring to support Backless, his latest record at that time. Eric Clapton is the debut solo studio album by British rock musician Eric Clapton, released in August 1970 under Atco and Polydor Records. After being successful with bands including The Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Cream and Blind Faith, Clapton recorded an album under his own name in late 1969 and early 1970. The album cover shows Clapton sitting in a room which is going to be decorated and in which a ladder, a chair and some carpets are placed.

Eric Clapton's eponymous solo debut was recorded after he completed a tour with Delaney & Bonnie. Clapton used the core of the duo's backing band and co-wrote the majority of the songs with Delaney Bramlett - accordingly, Eric Clapton sounds more laid-back and straightforward than any of the guitarist's previous recordings. There are still elements of blues and rock & roll, but they're hidden beneath layers of gospel, R&B, country, and pop flourishes.

Only 10 left in stock (more on the way). The two latter albums (EC and Just One night) are the two albums worth owning for the quality of the music. I have the original vinyl versions of EC was here (1975) and Just One night (1980) and they sound far superior, alive compared to the present set. To my mind, this set is a prime example of how all remastering to vinyl is not necessarily gold. Unless you are a dedicated EC fan, I'd save the money and try to get older.

For his 24th studio album, Eric Clapton is trying something different: a Christmas album. Happy Xmas will come out on Oct. 12. The collection contains one original track, "For Love on Christmas Day," mixed in with traditional and lesser-known tunes. Jingle Bells" is dedicated to Avicii, the Swedish DJ who passed away in April, reportedly taking his own life. Clapton co-produced the record with Simon Climie and also drew the album's cover of Santa Claus. Billboard notes that, although it's his first Christmas album, he played on five songs 1999's A Very Special Christmas Live, a benefit for the Special Olympics. A month prior to the release of Happy Xmas, Clapton will appear on Road to Utopia, the latest album from Hawkwind. It's a re-recording of some of their most beloved songs with an orchestra. Clapton plays guitar on "The Watcher. Eric Clapton, 'Happy Xmas' Track Listing.
