Wilson joined a High school band, The Mergers, in West Auckland in 1963. By 1964 they were renamed as the legendary La De Das. He played bass with them, and was one of it's key writers, until 1970, being, with Bruce Howard, the member of the band responsible for the ambitious Happy Prince concept album in 1968/9. When they returned from London in 1970 he opted to stay there and left the band, although he rejoined briefly in 1971. He joined a band in Sydney in 1972 called Home, and worked as a professional songwriter.

This is a discography of Steven Wilson's solo albums, his work with the band Porcupine Tree, his side projects and collaborations with other artists. Altamont was an electronica and krautrock duo formed by Steven Wilson and Simon "Si" Vockings. It existed between 1983–1984; Wilson was 15 years old at that time.

Trevor Wilson was the most iconic face of grunge who wasn't actually in a band. Not even Spencer Elden - the naked baby on the cover of Nirvana's Nevermind - was as immediately recognizable a stand-in for the angst and alienation of an entire generation as Wilson became with his first, and only, starring role: as the troubled teen in Pearl Jam's unforgettable 1992 video for Jeremy. The Mark Pellington-directed clip became a pillar of MTV’s ‘90s alt-rock canon, and helped the band’s debut album Ten go 13x platinum. And then he disappeared
