Earl Bostic ‎– Earl Bostic And His Alto Sax Vol. 8. Label: King Records (3) ‎– EP 20. Matrix, Runout (Side A label): (KEP-15 XX). Matrix, Runout (Side B label): (KEP-16).

Earl Bostic cut more than 400 tunes for King in the '50s, and they issued them in haphazard fashion. They made multiple recordings of similar tunes with different groups, put out compilations and then band albums, issued singles and EPs, and more. This was merely one in the series, although it was a first-rate offering. Bostic's hard-blowing, up-tempo and equally fluid, yet sensitive and soft ballad work not only was popular, but influenced many players, from Coltrane to Cannonball Adderley.
