Life, Love and Faith is a jazz related rnb music album recording by ALLEN TOUSSAINT released in 1972 on CD, LP/Vinyl and/or cassette. Life, Love And Faith 4 Men With Beards 2012. 1 day. Allen Toussaint - Love, Life and Faith/Southern Nights/Motion.
Considering that Toussaint released his debut album The Wild Sounds Of New Orleans (as Al Tousan) in 1958, it’s somewhat surprising that he waited until the 70s before again pursuing a solo career. Many of his songs from that era were covered by British Invasion bands, thus giving him a steady income. He then followed it up with 1971’s Toussaint. In 1972, he produced Life, Love And Faith, which is where this double CD picks up the thread. As ever with Toussaint, this is strong product: the dozen original songs are often striking and The Meters’ instrumental brilliance makes sure that every note is deeply felt.
Toussaint, Allen - Life, Love & Faith, Southern Night, Motion (2-CD) CD 2. 01. Basic Lady. Allen Toussaint was a close associate of Roland Cook, having played with him in both Earl King's band and on a 1957 national tour with Shirley & Lee -both times replacing Huey 'Piano' Smith, who found his own fame in 1957 with Rockin' Pneumonia. I played on Roy Gaines' session also. Still, Toussaint puts a positive light on the album. It wasn't a giant success or anything, however, it really put me on the map in many places that didn't know about me before then, like I would get fan mail from New Zealand, Iceland, all kind of places like that; I don't know why. And I would get fan mailfromvarious places in the country here in America.
