Surf magazines never get old. Everything changed with the advent of the internet, when anyone (us included) could suddenly start an online surf magazine or blog and contribute to the conversation. The content is informative and captivating, while remaining family friendly. Freesurf Magazine prints 20,000 copies per month, which are distributed free to 400-500 of locations in Hawai‘i, Southern California and the East Coast. You can find Freesurf in hundreds of surfshops in Southern California as well as the East Coast.

Surfing Magazines stay true to that rule. It looks like they were having fun, but sounds slightly less so - overall, it's clear that no one here was expecting to blow the industry apart; instead, they sound content just making music and recording the experience. If their mission was to fight back against the over-produced indie folk landfill then in some ways they have succeeded; the album sounds like a debut home recording, and much like those under-formed first forays into music, this record is functional but uninspiring.
