Tony Rebel is cited by many as the first Rasta "singjay" in dancehall reggae music, a style which blends singing with traditional deejaying over dancehall riddims (other singjays include Pinchers, Anthony B, and many newer artists). Tony Rebel's career began in the 1980's, and was often seen performing with Sugar Minott's Youthman Promotion sound system. Rebel is responsible for introducing a young Garnett Silk (then known as Bimbo or Little Bimbo) to the sound.

The album featured the hit single "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now", and the Top 10 hit "It's Not Over ('Til It's Over)", the former of which was included on the soundtrack of the fantasy comedy movie Mannequin and the latter of which was a tune originally performed the previous year by one-time Manfred Mann's Earth Band frontman Chris Thompson for Playing for Keeps soundtrack

Tony Rebel sings a peaceful, roots-oriented form of dancehall music designed to inspire his audience to take a more positive approach to life and social change. Born Patrick Barrett, Rebel is a Rastafarian, but rather than simply creating serious, philosophical tunes, he infuses his music with a lighthearted, liberal-leaning dose of humor. Prior to becoming a recording artist in the 1990s, he spent 14 years playing the local dancehall circuit.

It's more rock-oriented and darker-hued than their debut, 1969's Emergency!, and the temporary addition of ex-Cream member Jack Bruce on bass and vocals alongside stalwart guitarist John McLaughlin makes this something of a milestone of British progressive jazz. The album's primary flaw is that unlike the expansive double album Emergency!, these ten songs are tightly constricted into pop-song forms - only a swinging cover of Antonio Carlos Jobim's "Once I Loved" breaks the five-minute mark, and then only barely - which reins in these marvelous soloists too much.

What a situation I found myself it seems there's nothing I can do To prove to di whole a mi bredring them that mi and Stacy we're just cool Caan undastand how we tight so yet I swear there's nothing going on True them nuh know seh this girls been always there to help mi. when I'm down Worst when they see us holding hands, and laughing together (Strictly platonic iyah) Got ugly thinking we're making plans, to run off together.

Original guerilla Tony Rebel ah talk And you know me always a talk from mi heart You shoulda know that man. Chorus: There's a vibes about the time And it's real and I can feel it every day How they choose to refuse the good news And then lose and go astray But I see clear and I can hear of all the fear That is now plaguing all mankind Is only Jah can really help us inna this ya revelation time. Lend me oonuh ears nuh Full time you listen Exercise righteousness and make we get God blessing.
