The Electric Prunes, sometimes referred to as I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night), is the 1967 debut album by the American garage rock band, the Electric Prunes, released on Reprise Records. The first track, "I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night)", was a hit and became the band's signature tune. The album also contains another notable psychedelic rock composition, "Get Me to the World on Time". The album was listed in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

I'd turn around and run My pulse is beatin' faster And I'm headin' for disaster Here I go (higher, higher) Here I go (higher, higher) Here I go Get me to the world on time You gotta get me to the world on time. One kiss from you and my whole body starts to actin' strange You shake up all my senses, yeah, you tie me up in chains This chemical reaction isn't easy to define You drive me to distraction, you disturb my peace of mind You got me spinning like a top now And I don't know how to stop now Is this.

Their first album, The Electric Prunes, included the band's two nationally charting songs, "I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night)" and "Get Me to the World on Time". With the appearance of their second album, Underground, the band was more free to create their own material. However, the original group disbanded by 1968 when they proved unable to record the innovative and complex arrangements by David Axelrod on the albums Mass in F Minor and Release of an Oath. The band's follow-up single, "Get Me to the World on Time", which put distorted sound effects to a psychedelic-tinged Bo Diddley beat, was released in May 1967.

Get Me To The World On Time. On Neon Genesis Evangelion's iconic 'Fly Me to the Moon' renditions and where to hear them. By neyoni 26 Jun 3:58pm. Written-By – Tucker, Jones. 1-8. Like the Chocolate Watch Band the Prunes were vehicles for other people's musical ambitions but when they were allowed to break out and let rip they were both astonishing psychedelic garage bands from the golden era.
