Live at Monterey is a posthumous live album released on October 16, 2007. It contains Hendrix's performance with his band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. The album is similar to the Reprise release Jimi Plays Monterey, released in 1986, but with less dynamic range. Eddie Kramer mixed this version, with the DVD offering . channel surround sound. Historic Performances Recorded at the Monterey International Pop Festival.

Woody Herman returned to the big band wars in 1959 with these two very successful appearances at the Monterey Jazz Festival. His new band featured such major players as trumpeter Conte Candoli, trombonist Urbie Green, acoustic guitarist Charlie Byrd and a sax section comprised of tenors Zoot Sims, Bill Perkins and Richie Kamuca, Don Lanphere on alto and tenor, and baritonist Med Flory in addition to Herman himself

Woodrow Charles "Woody" Herman (May 16, 1913 – October 29, 1987), was an American jazz clarinetist, alto and soprano saxophonist, singer, and big band leader. Leading various groups called "The Herd," Herman was one of the most popular of the 1930s and '40s bandleaders.
