There are some things we can’t change and some things we can. Learning the difference and adjusting accordingly is in large part one of the secret’s of a happy life. Let me list a few and you’ll see what I mean. Things you CAN change: Your prayer life Your attitude Your perspective Your reaction to other people’s actions Your words Your preparation Your priorities Your habits Your commitment level Your facial expression.
If each of us just did a few things to bring about positive change on Earth, we can achieve something spectacular. In addition to reacting positively to upsetting circumstances, we can also take the initiative to pour some good into the world. Practicing random acts of kindness also creates a domino effect, as others appreciate what was done for them and then decide to do good in turn. Paying for someone else’s coffee in a drive-through will instantly brighten their day, and there’s more than a 90% chance that they’ll pay for the person behind them in turn, and so on. This video illustrates that concept rather perfectly, actually
Aikens' mother, Cellie, was an unaffectionate woman who often worked the streets. He never met his father and his stepfather was a physically abusive alcoholic.
Aikens believes that we now find ourselves at a turning point, one he likens to the move back to more traditional farming methods that followed the BSE crisis. As Charles Clover puts it in his devastating critique of overfishing, The End of the Line, the true price of fish isn't written on any menu: unless things change drastically, we are nearing the end for global fish stocks.
I Can Change" is the fourth single by American singer-songwriter Brandon Flowers from his second studio album, The Desired Effect. The song contains elements from "Smalltown Boy" (1984) by Bronski Beat. Brandon Flowers wrote "I Can Change" upon request from Swedish house duo Axwell and Ingrosso, who asked if Flowers would collaborate with them for their upcoming album. Because Axwell and Ingrosso were unable to finish the song, Flowers decided to record it himself
