Slipping Away" is a 1975 single by Melbourne-based New Zealand group, Max Merritt and The Meteors. It was released as the second single from their album "A Little Easier" in September 1975, making no impression in Britain but giving Max Merritt the biggest hit of his career in Oceania, peaking at N. in Australia and N. in NZ. "That song struck a chord with a lot of people," Max said, "and I’m very proud of it. It has been very good to m.

Max Merritt was born in Christchurch on 30th April 1941 and by his early teenage years was engrossed in music, beginning guitar lessons at the age of twelve. By the mid-fifties, rock and roll had exploded around the world and Max was quite taken by the styles and sounds of Elvis Presley and Bill Haley. In 1979 came a new single, "Trying Too Hard"/"Rock 'n Roll Mole", released from the second Polydor album called "Black Plastic Max" which came out in 1980. Max returned to Australia for a couple of tours in 1979 and 1980, on the second occasion he put together a band for the tour with comprised Stewie, Paul Grant on guitar, John Williams on keyboards, Martin Jenner on guitar and Phil Lawson on bass.

Disbanding The Meteors, Merritt shifted to Los Angeles in 1978 and two solo albums followed (Keeping In Touch and Black Plastic Max), with Merritt touring Australia every two or three years. In 1990 a reformed Max Merritt and The Meteors played The Gluepot, Max’s first NZ performance since 1966, with a line-up featuring Peter Williams, Bob Bertles, Billy Kristian and Bruno Lawrence.

MAX is an album by American jazz drummer Max Roach featuring tracks recorded in 1958 and released on the Argo label. A decade earlier, Roach had absorbed Kenny Clarke's drumming style and, with trumpet virtuoso Clifford Brown, forged his own brand of bebop. By 1958, on his way to becoming a true jazz elder, Roach began pushing the boundaries of jazz even further". All compositions by Max Roach except as indicated.

Max Merritt & The Meteors. Album A Little Easier. Slipping Away Lyrics. Baby I've been watching you Watching everything you do And I just can't help but feeling Someone else is stealing you away from me I see it written in your eyes You confirm it with your lies Though the web that you weave can hold me I would rather that you told me Where you wanna be Oooh slipping away from.
