Get Ready is the RIAA Platinum-certified second studio album by American blues rock band Rare Earth. It was released on September 30, 1969 by Motown Records. John Persh – vocals, bass guitar, trombone. Pete Rivera – vocals, drums. Rod Richards – vocals, guitar. Kenny James – vocals, organ, electric piano. Gil Bridges – vocals, saxophone, tambourine.

Tracks taken : 1-1 previously unreleased.

The sound of the material varies from time to time. At best, the band could be seen as a soulful and hard rocking outfit that really knew how to merge sounds of soul music with hard rock and jazz. At worst they come across as bubble gummy ‘60's pop. The album includes several previously unreleased tracks. Of course their biggest hit, "I Just Want To Celebrate" is present, as are many other originals and covers by artists such as Smokey Robinson and Ray Charles.

This Rare Earth CD really brings back 1970 and 1971 with the hit songs 'Get Ready'; '(I know) I'm Losing You' and 'I Just Want to Celebrate'. It's Temptations/Motown songs with that heavy, big band sound that many fell in love with back then. Good listening, particularly after listening to the Temptations greatest hits.

Over the course of seven tracks, all the group's biggest hits - "Get Ready," "(I Know) I'm Losing You," "Born to Wander," "I Just Want to Celebrate," "Hey Big Brother," and "What'd I Say" - are included, all in their original album versions. This means "(I Know) I'm Losing You" runs over ten minutes, "Ma" over 17, and "Get Ready" a shattering 21-plus minutes.

Rare Earth is an American rock band affiliated with Motown's Rare Earth record label (which was named after the band), who prospered in 1970–1972. Although not the first white band signed to Motown, Rare Earth was the first big hit-making act signed by Motown that consisted only of white members.
