Releasing EPs on Rush Hour at a rate of approximately one per year, Haruki Matsuo might not be the most prolific of producers, but then he's probably more of a quality over quantity kind of guy. 'Geisha Dance' is a nicely streamlined piece of jittery staccato techno, pinned together by jazzy intervals and slippery, swinging rhythms. B-side 'Fade In, Fade Out' is a more fluid affair with undercurrents of ambience running beneath that crisp loop-driven veneer.
Matsuo Bashō was born Matsuo Kinsaku and then was known as Matsuo Chūemon Munafusa. He was the most famous poet during the Edo period in Japan.
